The Internationally Accredited Online 4-Week Course

Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR)

A Programme for Healthcare Professionals

Our next course will start in Autumn 2026

Healthcare professionals are rigorously trained to prioritise the needs of patients above all else - often at the expense of their own physical and mental health. My recent article published in The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) underscores that physician self-care is not a luxury, but a moral necessity for sustainable, patient-centred practice.

The Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) course offers a structured, evidence-based framework for healthcare professionals to cultivate mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience. It provides the tools for clinicians to offer the same level of care and compassion to themselves that they provide to their patients, ensuring they remain effective and empathetic in an increasingly demanding healthcare landscape.

Designed by Karen Atkinson, CEO of MindfulnessUK, the course is recognized by the European and British Associations of Mindfulness-Based Approaches (EAMBA & BAMBA). It offers engaging, accessible practices and techniques specifically designed to be integrated into the busy life of a working professional.

Options for Groups & Organisations: This programme is highly adaptable and can be delivered as a 4 or 8-session course to hospital departments, GP practices, or healthcare organisations.
